When: Late November - Early December (Depending on Season Dates)
Hosts: Avery Pro-Staffers David Rearick & Mike Bard
Notes: You are bidding on a 2 man, 2 day layout hunt for divers that will take place on open water in Central or Both hunters will be able to hunt at the same time, lying side by side in the MLB 2 man, and will enjoy one of the greatest waterfowl hunting shows they have ever witnessed. If you have never taken part in a traditional layout shoot for divers, you are in for a real treat. Even the best shooters can quickly be humbled, while trying to shoot divers flying just above the water. Bring lots of shells and be ready for some of the fastest paced action known to the sport of waterfowling. A typical day starts with skies full of divers heading to feed in the morning and continues with plenty of action throughout the day. While weather is a driving force of bird movement, even on the most bluebird/sunny days there is action to be had. Your seasoned hosts will give their all to ensure not only your best opportunities, but most importantly your safety in the water. David Rearick and Mike Bard invite you to spend some quality hunting time on the water with them, while making lasting memories in the progress. Accommodations: There are many local hotels in the area and your hosts will be happy to assist you in locating one to fit your needs. Pick-up and drop off from the Equipment needed: Gray rain suits will be provided for your use, but bring plenty of layered clothing to handle all weather conditions. It is important to keep bulky clothing to a minimum, and wear as many layers as possible to strip off through the day. Chest waders are strongly recommended, but not 100% necessary. Thin waterproof gloves are also a must, along with a hand muff to keep your hands warm when the birds aren’t flying. 12 or 20 Ga shotguns should be choked IC or SK, w/ BB thru 2 shot being ideal. 2-3 boxes per day is recommended, but shells can be purchased locally “just in case.” All other safety gear will be provided and available for use.
