HDC 2010 for Team Connor

1-Weekday, 2-Person Missouri Hunt
Where: North Central Missouri
Hosts: Avery® Pro-Staffer Tony Vandemore
When: During the week (No weekends) Subject to establishment of 2009-2010 Missouri Migratory Waterfowl Season; sometime in November
Species: Mainly Mallards, some Pintails, Gadwalls, Teal, Wood Ducks
Equipment used: Greenhead Gear® Decoys
Notes: With an excellent Department of Conservation, along with help from local landowners, Missouri is now home to thousands of migrating ducks and geese each fall. The area around the Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge is steep in waterfowling heritage and used to winter the vast majority of the Eastern Prairie Population Canada Geese. Big reservoirs up the flyway have put an end to the staggering numbers of dark geese that used to call Swan Lake Home, however there are still several Canadas that stop and thousands of ducks. This hunt will more than likely take place in a buckbrush oxbow surrounded by big oak trees. However, depending on what the birds are doing it could end up on the big water, in a marsh, or in a flooded grain field.
If requested, lodging will be provided the night before the hunt. The accommodations include a two story farm house, full kitchen, grill, smoker, etc just 2 miles from the refuge.
