Colorado Goose Hunt With Nate Caldwell 2009

Hello, my name is Nate Caldwell.  I am honored to be a part of this important cause through one of my greatest passions in life: hunting.  I grew up and still live in the wildlife rich front range of Colorado.  As early as I can remember, my father and I were covering the roads in the U.S. and Canada either fishing for walleyes or hunting ducks and geese. And it has remained my infatuation all these years.  I’ve been able to enjoy the outdoors with my family, my friends, and with my clients and have taken the opportunity to the next level through competition calling and waterfowl guiding.

When I was first approached to do this hunt, my wife Heather and I knew we couldn’t turn our backs on the opportunity.  Heather’s mother was diagnosed with breast and lung cancer two years ago and after chemo and radiation treatment is so far cancer free.  My aunt also experienced the trauma of breast cancer many years ago and fortunately was a survivor.  And of course, participating in Race for the Cure every year reminds us that there are so many other people and families dealing with cancer every day.  It has affected us and so this is a small way that we can give back and hope that some day there is cure for all types of cancer.

With that, I want to be sure that you have the best waterfowl hunt possible considering the donation you are making.  Although I guide for Waterfowl Haven Outfitters, this hunt will be donated by me, as an individual, and will take place on my own personally leased property.  In addition to myself, there will also be one to two other champion guides at your service.

This hunt will be fully guided goose hunt with champion goose callers on land out of a heated pit using 15-20 dozen GreenHead Gear Full Body decoys.  Look forward to having the opportunity to see lots of geese with geese finishing tight into the decoys.  Snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the day of your hunt.  You will be responsible for your own accommodations – there are several hotels/motels in the area, I can help you with information.

UPDATE Late December Hunt Report from Nate Caldwell....

"Thanks to everyone that donated their time and money to this great cause. Claude, Logan, and Austin came out from Utah through the snow storm in Wyoming... It paid off with a great hunt. The birds worked great! We had to do a lay out hunt due to the lack of birds around our pits. With limits around for a couple of guys on their first waterfowl hunts. Shane and Mike thanks for the help in lining up this field. Knaus thanks for putting the pics up. Thanks
